If you are thinking of joining the Savage Lythia list, the information provided below will be invaluable. This page will tell how and where you can subscribe to the List, how to adjust your personal settings, and the different subscriber types.

Regular Subscribers
Regular subscribers receive each message individually, soon after it is send to the list by the original author. This means they might receive many small individual e-mails from the discussion list throughout the day, or a lot of individual messages at once if they connect to the Internet via a dial-up modem.

Digest Subscribers
Digest subscribers only get one message from the discussion list per day, but it contains every message that was sent to the list for that day, in the order they were sent in. Some people prefer one message a day than many small e-mails throughout the day, but others find that letting their e-mail client sort the many small, individual e-mails into threads much better.

How to Subscribe
In order to join the fun of the Savage Worlds™ list, you must subscribe. By clicking on the Join Up Now! link, you will jump to the Subscriber Admin Page, which is a page on the list server. A little way down the page are a couple of fields where you subscribe. Simply enter the e-mail address you wish the list to send to, select a password and confirm it by typing it again. Finally, select whether you want to receive every message as it is send out, or just the one (possibly large) digest e-mail per day. And that's it...almost. A confirmation e-mail will be sent to the address you specified. You are required to click the reply button on this message and send it back to the list server. This confirms you wish to join, and is designed to prevent prank subscriptions.

How to Unsubscribe
In order to unsubscribe from the Savage Worlds™ list, you will have to go to the subscriber admin page, and then log in to your personal subscription details page. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the information page, and enter your subscribed e-mail address into the field just above the horizontal line, and click the "Edit Options" button. You will be taken to your personal details page. The very first field is where you enter your password, and by clicking the "Unsubscribe" button, your subscription to the list will be terminated. You will receive one last message from the list server, containing a confirmation that you have unsubscribed and wishing you well for the future.

The Savage Worlds™ List Archives
Every post sent to the lists since it began in mid-November of 2003 is stored in the list archives (again, there's a link in the right-hand margin). Each week's posts are held in a single consolidated thread. The link to this archive is also found at the bottom of the first section of the subscriber admin page, and it is private. This means you must enter your subscribed e-mail address and password in order to gain entry to the list. The reason the archive is private is to prevent subscribers' e-mail addresses being harvested by spammers. Please note that you can't reply to messages from with the Archive, like you can from Yahoo Groups; you can only read the threads. You must send mail to the list from an e-mail client like Eudora, Outlook Express, or a free webmail account like Hotmail, or Bigfoot.

Changing Your Details
The subscriber admin page also contains a field where you can log on to your membership details. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page to find this field; it is at the very end, just before the horizontal line. Simply enter your e-mail address, click the "Unsubscribe or edit options" button, and you will be taken to a page where you can either enter your password to see your personal subscription information, get sent your password, or unsubscribe. If you log in, you can:

• unsubscribe,
• add or change your name,
• change your password,
• change your e-mail address, and
• change your subscription options.

Your Savage_Worlds Subscription Options
This web page allows you to personalise you subscription to the list. Each option is fully explained on the web page, but if you have any questions, don't hesitate to send a message to help@savage.lythia.com, and an Admin will help you out as soon they can.
