This is a listing of the Savage Worlds™ List rules of conduct for all new subscribers, and a reminder for those more long-term members, as laid down by your friendly neighborhood List Admins. NB: These rules are subject to change without notice.
(1) List Purpose
The purpose of this list is to discuss the Pinnacle Entertainment Group's Savage Worlds™ and anything that pertains to Savage Worlds™, even if the connection is perhaps a bit vague and tenuous. This includes all publications (official and unofficial), books, movies or recordings that might inform, provide ideas, or set the scene, the application of rules and house rules in any situation within a Savage Worlds™ campaign, etc. etc. Off topic discussions are OK if brief and labeled as such in the Subject line, such as "OT: The Off Topic Subject Line".
(2) Behavior & Discrimination
No form of discrimination is permitted on this list. Do not abuse anyone because of their opinion, race, color, creed, religion, gender, sexual orientation, education level, game system, genre, or conversion used. Flames and trolling will not be tolerated — usually by anybody on the list, but most especially by the List Admins. Do not abuse, insult, or vilify anyone, either personally or as a group. If you disagree with a post, please express any contrary position politely. Make it a debate instead of a raging argument; it's actually more fun that way. If something makes you angry, don't dash off an e-mail in the heat of the moment. Go away, calm down, come back and read it again. You just might find they are right...or at least, not the idiots you first thought they were. You are all permitted to start or continue a topic (whatever it is, and wherever it was from) as it pertains to Savage Worlds™. The only limitation is that posts must conform to Rule (1) above.
(3) Changing the Subject Line
Please change the Subject line of a message if you reply to it, but are changing the topic from its original. Do this even if the change is minor, so that people can see that the topic has changed without having to open and read the actual message. The ideal is if you say "New Topic (WAS: Old Topic)", or something similar. Again, the only limitation is that posts must conform to Rule (1) above.
(4) Trimming Replies
Ensure that when you reply to a message, you trim (or snip) out the parts of the previous message that have no bearing on your post. This is to reduce the amount of completely redundant or meaningless text that people have to wade through. It might be convenient for you to quickly click reply and dash off a message, but it annoys the rest of us. It also fills up the digest e-mails and archives with completely redundant information.
(5) Plain Text Only
Use only plain text when sending or replying to this mailing list. In my opinion, of all things that cause the most problems and wastes the most bandwidth on the Internet, it is e-mails formatted with HTML. For complete details, check out my short rant on the subject on the following page: Plain Text E-Mails, Please.
(6) Subscription Activities
All subscription activities are carried out on your personal subscription web page. Please point your browser to the Savage Worlds™ subscriber admin page, and type in your password. See Rule (7) for details about getting help if you have any difficulties.
(7) Obtaining List Admin Assistance
If you need some assistance, and no information on this web site has helped you, you can e-mail help@savage.lythia.com and a List Admin will come to your aid as soon as they can. Also use it to contact us with suggestions for new material, or to help us correct any errors you find on these pages, too.
